Prevent Water Contamination AND Still Operate Hydrants Normally

Thwart accidental or purposeful contamination of the potable water supply via fire hydrants 24/7 by installing Mueller® Centurion 250/HS™ High Security Fire Hydrants. They feature an integral check valve in the hydrant shoe preventing potentially contaminated water in the hydrant from getting back into the water main. The check valve is located in the inlet end of the shoe where it presents no interference with normal hydrant operation or maintenance procedures. Access to the hydrant in emergencies is unhindered with no locks, special wrenches, or circumventing protective mechanisms involved. Maintenance or hydrant inspections use normal procedures and involve no extra disassembly. The check valve’s one moving part – a steel and fabric reinforced elastomeric flapper operates without water hammer and is virtually maintenance free.
